Our Indigenous and Afrikan centered publishing & communication venture: Ujima Press Real Communication (UPRC), is an independent international family affair founded in December 1999. Inspiration, freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of peace and happiness are reflected in our talented group and affiliates.
Ujima in Swahili means collective work and responsibility. Our editors, typesetters, proofreaders, other staff members; musicians, authors, poets, spoken word artists, and writers all work in a collective effort to produce the best possible product. Ujima Press Real Communication prides itself on publishing a product that is original, imaginative, enjoyable, interesting, worthwhile, captivating, and more. Ujima Press Real Communication produces fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and children's literature. UPRC is dedicated to promoting consciousness raising works by original indigenous people of Afrikan descendent and Afrikans in the Diaspora.
